Upon careful examination I've defined the offending demographic here: old white nerds.

Dyslexia, you bring up a point that has been bouncing around my mind recently. The conservatives of today are acting awfully like the liberals of the 1960's. I kind of like being on the other side of it.

Possibly because, in both instances, the respective government, at each time, did not seem to listen to the will of the majority.

Liberals are not the majority in this country. They just have much of the media on their side, and voters that are willing to vote for the party that might feather their nest. Just many self-serving voters, in my opinion. Conservatives tend to vote for what is good for the country, in context of a less than friendly world, I believe.

But, I have not noticed great gentility from all liberals on the internet?

@DontTreadOnMe,
Even with that direct link I get an error message. "Not found. " I'm here via Internet Explorer, running some version of Windows on a brand new Sony Vaio laptop. But that site is unavailable to me for some reason.

Besides, nerds would have better grammar, punctuation, and wit.

I've seen nothing to suggest this is a empirically supportable statement. It is an annoying meme though.

Rather, I'd wager, that conservatives tend to be more insular, and so it might feel like there is a conservative majority because the majority of people they know are conservatives. Liberals on the other hand have been living in a big tent for a while now and I think socialize with a wider diversity of people.

The ways we socialize ultimately biases our ability to quantify and qualify things like this.

I'm not sure if either had an obvious majority, with what frequency the tide shifts, and with what kind of margin.

While wearing an Obama t shirt.

Likely an anti-Obama one, I would say.

It's also pretty silly. The way our political process is set up, Liberals don't have to be the majority to change things in their direction. They just need one more vote than the conservatives.

The fact is, Democrats won the last national election hands down. If conservatives don't like that, and want to win some elections of their own, they ought to be thinking of shifting slightly left, in order to capture more of the middle.

Instead, we see hatred, obstructionism, and outright craziness.

@DrewDad,
I'll add that in-group loyalty is seen as a moral requirement for the conservatives. That's why moderates like McCain drive them crazy.

@boomerang,
I think she may be referring to when Cain killed Able in the account in Genesis.

Quote:
Gen 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. and God said his blood cried to him from the ground. (KJV)

I find it odd how it is ok for these radical rights wingers to say America can't be blessed when they went crazy when Reverend Wright said similar words which had the same meaning. (the opposite of blessed is dammed isn't it?)

However, I dont' think that one was the worst:

I became curious about what long legged mack daddy is or is supposed to be so I looked it up.

I forgot how to leave those youtube things: so below is the url

James David Manning

Quote:
Rev. James David Manning, the pastor of Harlem’s Atlah Worldwide church, insulted Barack Obama by calling the presidential candidate “trash” and a “mack daddy”.”His African-in-heat father went a-whoring after a trashy white woman,” said Manning, who is a proclaimed Clinton supporter. “[Obama] was born trash.”

“He got started " you didn’t notice him ’til he brought out those big-chested white women with their tight T-shirts and their short pants,” said Manning about how Obama started his campaign. “That’s what a pimp does He’s a mack daddy. He pimps white women and black women. Obama is a long-legged mack daddy.”

source

Last I hear Hillary Clinton was for affirmative action and Manning was a Hillary Clinton supporter. Wonder if he knew that his saying would get mixed in with rebel signs?

One thing that is striking to me is how miserable these people are.

In the pro- health care rally people were joking and smiling and laughing. Even the chanting was jovial. The whole thing was led by a brass band with people dancing and singing ("... I aint gonna study war no more").

The teabaggers seem like they have no hope. I kind of feel sorry for them.

You are talking about your own subjective view. Not everyone subscribes to your perception. Pero, sus opiniones deben ser correcto, por supuesto.
