@Walter Hinteler,

That's right. When the Sahara Desert took over from rich pastures the thinly spread nomads were forced towards fresh water. Hence they congregated on the banks of certain rivers like the Nile and the Tigris much like kids do on a hot afternoon when the Ice-cream van comes. They had to get organised when they all crowded together. Which is no small feat.
You could astound your teachers, you young A2Kers, by letting them explain all about ancient Egypt for an hour or two and then, after asking permission to speak, say --"But Miss. That's what you would expect from a dense crowd of ex-nomads from all parts which depended
in extremis on a river flooding every year at a certain time. It's obvious Miss that somebody would have an IQ of 175 and it wouldn't take him long, and it would be a him because nomadic women don't seem to have an IQ, to figure out when the floods were coming and when they were going and leaving the rich alluvial silt behind and getting himself the credit for calling them forth and back, after having an insight listening to his dad tell him about his grandfather's, the dad's grandfather, ideas, which his, the grandfather's dad, had told him about his dad's granfather's stories about flights of birds and swarms of bluebottles. A man getting that power and passing it on down his descendents as a secret knowledge would soon be the ancestor of a great, and divine, King presiding over 5.5% growth. Imagine Miss--you having that power. "
Scientists say the Sahara is creeping north.
