am looking for a jewish name for george
If the purpose is to give a Jewish baby a "Jewish name" for religious purposes , and it will have George on its birth certificate, then possibly an orthodox rabbi can advise a male Hebrew name that begins with the "g" sound. I believe many Jews, in English speaking countries, just give the child a Jewish name for religious purposes using the sound of the first letter of the English/American name. Many orthodox Jewish babies get regular Hebrew names for the birth certificate. Then Joshua can become Josh, and Jacob can become Jake for one's secular activities.
P.S. Ashkenazi Jews are supposed to be named after someone dead. So a dead relative should have had a Jewish name already?
