I'm the one who gets to choose the name he'll be registered under with the AKC. I haven't seen his pedigree yet, beyond the names of his parents. After I register him with the AKC, I'll receive a 3 generation pedigree.

It is great fun choosing a name. Choosing the AKC name is easier than choosing the call name--unless you're breeding or showing the dog the AKC name really isn't used.

Louis doesn't grab me, but Louie isn't bad.

Beside the names I've already mentioned, and the ones that have been suggested by A2Kers, my list has included:
Gordy, Georgie, Rory, Buster, Jamie, Ralphie, Jordy, and Toby. At the moment, I sort of like Toby. That could change in an hour. Laughing

Newman, Bogart, McQueen - get the idea ... retro film stars! And names like Hendrix, Axel, Bailey, Harley, Maestro, Cairo, Cuba, Harvey, Phoenix, Charlie, Monty, Coco - strewth, the list is endless isn't it? Or you could always go for a name like Spendius!!! Laughing
