Aw, Occupup looks just like my mom's Oscar. She just lost him to old age and is inconsolable. I'm wondering if sending her that pic would cheer her up or ...

Good question. I was bereft as all get out when I lost Pacco, but still went on talking about him on a2k, that helped me. Big fat thread about it. Later as the flume of grief passed, I got a kick out of seeing corgi stuff, reminiscing about him, and see, he's back as my avatar.
(I promise, one of these days a photo of Katy)

I suspect sending mom this link might eventuate in her crying, but it could be a good kind of crying. (I'm no expert on this grief stuff).

It's only been a couple of weeks now. When she called to tell me she was crying so hard I couldn't understand her and, of course, I immediately thought something had happened to my dad. She eventually got it out that Oscar had died (whew)...I felt both terrible and relieved at the same time. Ack...she really shoulda had Dad make the call (he's actually pretty broken up, too).

Just before the date I had arranged for Pacco to visit the vet for the last time, I was a rattled woman in pain. Next door (I live in what I call a duplex, but is known here as a townhouse) apparently my neighbor and beau had either their wedding or a wedding party. They're hardly ever loud, I like them. Anyway, I sobbed all through it, hearing it through my window, Pacco at my feet.

Gotta say, your folks must be neat.

I think she'll eventually even be able to see some humor in that phone call (you might have needed to hear it to understand). I overheard Mr.Irish telling someone about it the other day and we both started laughing...with me tearing up a bit at the same time lol. She'll get there. In the meantime, we both think they need to get another dog!

That has to say something about the neurophysiology of dogs doesn't it? It's like when you scratch them in 'that spot' and the hind leg pretends it's doing the work.
