@Setanta,
As in 'he doesn't mind sheep, or goats'?

(I saw what you did there :-) )

@hingehead,
What's that, a dogless head?

@roger,
So that's what happened to it! If Greece was on the other side of the planet to south east Asia we could assume it was a very long necked dog.

@Roberta,
In German Village in Columbus, Ohio, there is a park--Schiller Park. We were there with Mr. Bailey, and sat down on a bench near the statue of Schiller. After a little while, Mr. Bailey noticed the statue, and immediately became irate--he was barking so much, we had to get up an move to a bench from which he could not see the statue.

Or at least on a person's lap. That one example is small enough.

@tsarstepan,
That would be ok too. However it’s supposed to be in a pet carrier, right?

That’s for the animals protection as well as for the passengers.

When we travel on a bus, streetcar or the subway with a dog, or dogs, they sit on the floor, unless the space is not crowded. The transit commission here restricts the hours when you can have a dog on transit--except, of course, for service dogs. With Bella, she is small enough that you can hold her on your lap. I've traveled with her on a crowded subway at rush hour, and she just sat on my lap. On the bus or the streetcar, some drivers ignore her, others give you the stink-eye but don't say anything. A very few will tell you to keep the dog on your lap. One, and only one, bus driver told me about the restricted hours but didn't make me get off the bus.

I have a much bigger problem with the arrogant bastards who think that their backpack or purse needs a seat of its own. I have put them on the floor and sat down in the seat.
