BELLA AND THE PONIES
Because Bella has gone AWOL a couple of times, she is not allowed out on the porch unsupervised. Yesterday afternoon, i went out on the porch so she could go sit in her chair and watch the world go by, one of her favorite passtimes. Just as i sat down, a group of people came by, including a man leading a pony with a little girl riding. Bella was stunned. She froze in place and just stared. She had never seen a dog that big! (She appears to consider all animals to be some form of dog--she never understands why cats we meet when on a walk don't want to play with her.) I said: "Look at the size of that dog, Bella!" The people just laughed
The man came back down the street in a little while, leading the pony with a little girl riding. Bella was up on on her chair by then, and watched, dumbfounded, as the procession passed. Then the man came back up the street leading the pony. Bella sniffed and leaned forward to get a better look. About five minutes later, the man came back, leading the pony with a different little girl riding . . . and was followed by a second man leading a pony with a little girl riding! Bella was flabbergasted, two giant dogs. She had been sitting up to look for the man with the pony again, and upon seeing two of them, just fell over. It was definitely a red letter day for Bella.
