@roger,

No, roger, that's what
I learned! And it was a very useful thing to learn, too!
@msolga,
Well, if they didn't tell me, I don't have to do it.
I was pretty young when I started posting on the forums, and so I got a lot better at debate, rather than just obstinately stating an opinion.
The philosophy and debate forums have been an outlet, for sure.
I've had my perspective widened again and again... which is the main reason I use the site now.
I'm a curious person, and I learn a lot here.
Just in the last weeks I learned two big things I'd been trying to figure out.
1) What is causing my dog's breathing problems. Two veterinarians couldn't diagnose it and I spent a lot of money on x-rays etc but one quick question got me an answer right away.
2) How to make good hamburgers.
A2K is also one of the only mediums I discuss politics, religion, philosophy etc. Very few people in my day-to-day life are worth discussing these things with and even the most uninformed A2K members tend to be much better than average.
I get a lot out of A2K, it's been very rewarding for me. Even when dumb stuff is posted you can learn from a researched rebuttal. Of course, like anything in life if you seek out information you find it. If you don't you probably won't.
Unknown as it is. Was I changed or would this change have been placed any way? The Internet clearly changed much of my being who I am daily on a daily basis. So before and after introductions to the Internet there has change. Sid this site alter me I have no idea since I have been never exclusive to only 1 site at a time for learning and research and fun experiences.
When I first started posting to A2k I was 5'10".
I am now 5'9".
@Reyn,
Pshaw! Have a big old glass of iced tea, on me.

Believe it or not, Shapeless, after all this time I still have no idea of what your views are.
Hence the poster's chosen name: Shapeless?
Yes, Abuzz, and then A2K, have changed me:
- I got better at talking to people with backgrounds different from mine. (Of course that's technically for my correspondents to decide.)
- As a result of loosing discussions with some of the very knowledgeable members here, I have changed some of my opinions, political and otherwise. Also, I now have better arguments for the opinions I did not change. (Same disclaimer: technically that's for my correspondents to decide.)
- I have met friends here whom I wouldn't have met elsewhere.
Overall, I can't complain.
@Thomas,
The experience of meeting a number of y'all has taught me the value in holding my tongue.
@Debra Law,
Ha... that is actually pretty close to what I had in mind when I chose the name.
@LionTamerX,
Good to see you, LionTamerX
I wish you'd hold your tongue a little less -- it's always nice to run into you.
Dammit, solipsister! You beat me to it. I was gonna say, yes, but I just wish they'd use cloth nappies instead of those throwaways.
Have I been changed by a2k ? Only in as much as I've changed myself!
@Chumly,
Chumly,
I'm interested in your use of the word "only" there. Care to expand ?
@Merry Andrew,
Ask not if you've been changed by A2K, but what you can change in your A2K.
Like that nap on the green.
@oolongteasup,
Today I learned about why Challah is taken. And I probably wouldn't have ever had the inclination to google or learn about that on my own.
It was very interesting. Thank you Orastar.
@dlowan,
I've learned I have certain fondness for wabbits.
