I think these are some type of forum viral marketing or simply spam, but I am uncertain.

I also wondered about all those rainsoft water softener posts. Are those some type of viral marketing?

Actually, I think this has become the place-to-go of choice for water problems. Mostly, the people asking stick around with dialog and follow up questions that aren't typical of viral marketeers.

Well, I 've had all sorts of water problems. All this rain is driving me crazy - between camping in the rain and having softball games canceled - can anyone help me with all this excess water?

Is James008 at all connected to (James) Bond007?
Reminds me of the night my wife and I stopped at a restaurant after I played in an orchestral concert, wearing a tuxedo. The staff asked me for my name. I couldn't resist--because of my attired--saying "Bond...Herbie Bond." My wife thought it was funny but the staff didn't.
