My wife told me that two people who have blood type O+ can't make babies. Is this true?
No. O+ is the most common blood type in the United States.
Trouble can occur if a woman is Rh- and the husband Rh+, but this does happen all the time and there are procedures to deal with it.
I never heard that and I highly doubt it Pitter.
Ok thanks. It sounded pretty doubtfull to me too.
It's all a matter of people developing antibodies in reaction to other people's red cell antigens. O means the red cells are free of certain antigens, known as A and B. + means that each of you have Rh antigens on your red cells.
The blood types are compatible. It is possible there are other less important antigens one or the other has, but they cause less trouble.
