Eg. , you are the only one I reacll, to have even started a thread

That just goes to prove
that thay don 't get as much loving as thay
SHOUD.

WE had a raffle at the gun club once. It involved having the
winner sit down behind a 30 cal maxhine gun and blow the hell
out of a piece of B/C 1/2" plywood.
That sounds like
FUN.
I 'd have gotten into that raffle.

The guy that won was escorted to the range and was given tutorial
on firing the weapon and (hopefully) tearing up the plwood.
We all watched, envious that we didnt win the 10$ prize
(All money went into a fund for some kind of kids n guns thing , I dont recall).
That 's inspiring.
When I 've encountered kids at gunnery ranges,
I ve given them cash for ammo and ice cream.
After the guy won, u coud have n shoud have had
another raffle
for the same prize; and after that:
another one. Get my drift?

He fired about 50$-100$ worth of ammo ( I guess that was reload cost),
and when it was all over, we went back to a quoits tournament.
I 'd have requested a machinegun tournament, for more
FUN.

The Founders, sadly, did not have automatic weapons,
but thay
DID have
gunnery tournaments using what thay HAD available.
James Madison was known for running them.
A letter survives from Thomas Jefferson to his 12 year old nephew
wherein he counsels the boy always to take his gun with him
when he goes out for a walk, and he encourages him to render himself proficient
in its use. As a sport, he recommended gunnery in preference to ball games.

So, my answer is that, nope, I dont get a woody over machine guns.
I don 't believe that u r giving them a
FAIR CHANCE.

They have a purpose (a limited purpose) and, as a means of recreation,
Id rather draw or go fishin.
I don 't wanna say anything against fishing (I
love fish, if not overcooked) nor drawing.
Maybe u can draw pictures of beautiful submachineguns while u r fishing.
Every decent household in America
shoud have at least
3 submachineguns in it, including the Thompson Sub
and the H & K MP5 with plenty of hollowpointed ammo.
Marksmanship and safe gun handling practices shoud be tawt in schools
