That'il do it ! I still recall the first five or so days of acute discomfort when I quit over 30 years ago. It got markedly better after that, though it took a long time to break imprinted assiciations, like with coffee and other things.

Don't get too cranky.

I have a brand new (never been used) shower chair/porta-potty from when I had my surgery a couple years ago.

You are more than welcome to borrow it to give yourself a soft place to land in the shower, should you need it. It will also allow you to take unassisted showers while sitting down (until you gather the endurance for a fully unassisted stand-up shower.

If you want me to bring it over, just say the word. It is out in the garage gathering dust.

Good for you Dys.

@Sglass,
Sglass tells no lies. Had my last cigarette before going to Logan Airport at dawn on March 3rd. Haven't smoked since. I'm almost off the patch now. Keep the low-dose ones around for when a stressful situation arises and my inner smoker is groping for a butt, but nuch of the time I don't even put one on after the morning shower. Went all day today "clean."

Good luck, Dys. I doubt that you'll regret that decision.

@Merry Andrew,
I stopped smoking when we flew to Rome in February - didn't start ... until there's was a lot of stress most recently.
(But stopped afterwards agin, becuase that was really silly.)

Good luck, dys!

@dyslexia,
Perhaps if you took that shower today, it would extinguish the cigarette.

I've heard good things about hypnotism for quitting smoking.

I also plan to take a shower by Saturday.
