Hi Mikey
I was almost on the cape today...walking along the cc canal on the Buzzards Bay side.
Ooops, it's 12:07 a.m. make that yesterday.
just curious as to how you knew we were nieghbours is all. small town nonsense i bet. never knew you were that close by.
you wouldn't take me to the pub tomorrow if i bought you lunch or a few beers i don't suppose? air the old man out? gas money too?
you didn't miss a thing here today jjorge. hail, rain, wind.
i'll pass on the dewars, used to be far to good a friend he was.
Mikey
In the early afternoon it wasn't bad by the canal. The temp was in the low fortys with a bit of a breeze but fine for walking .
I used to hang out in Buzzards Bay in the summertime when I was 15-17 (the late fifties)
it started out warm here this am, then went downhill fast JJorge. getting cold now. rained all evening. buzzards bay must have been a trip in the late 50's lol.
You'd be surprised how similar it looked to now...except it was a little grittier then. My friend's parents belonged to a club, sort of a private campground called the 'Worcester Surf Casting Club' it was in a pine grove across the canal from the railroad bridge.
We used to go into Buzzards Bay looking for girls.
At that time Otis Air Force Base was open so buzzards Bay was somewhat of a serviceman's town.
hasn't changed much since i first remember it, but that's buzzards bay for you. you ever find the wimmens there lol ?
let me just say that our fantasy lives were much richer than our actual lives.
So, no, we didn't find girls too often (we wouldn't have known what to do with wimmen!) but we found plenty of beer and liquor which was the other thing we were always trying to get our hands on.
first things first i'd say jjorge. we were the same way at that age. i chuckle when i watch my boys do the same things.
My usual stomping grounds in those days was Brockton.
(boy that's a city that has gone down hill!)
We used to drive up and down Main Street, carloads of boys (mostly) and some carloads of girls. We'd drive up and down up and down, looking at each other and trying to strike up a conversation.
I think the girls were scared and the guys were glad of it!
Those were innocent times but that didn't stop the guys from making up lies about our sexual conquests to impress each other.
Hey, I use to live in Buzzards Bay in the 70's. I lived on the same block as the maritimes academy.
so here I am, up north, on a Sunday! We left the Cape yesterday... on a Saterday forchrissake! I never do that, so I'm all confused.
Geographically jjorge, you were on the Cape. Cape starts at Wareham and Plymouth... at least it usta before the canal.
I like hearing you talk about Cape Cod... I was there once in late winter. Chilly, but not bad. Nice dunes and cute little towns. A lot of places were closed. I love the salt water.
I'm with you, Phoenix, I'll get confused if people change their avatars frequently. I can't remember what Dream's was before... maybe an abstract design?
I'll change mine only, when I get some 'admiral stripes'.
Walter! Yours is perfect... You can dress him up and down. We ought to get a picture of you and littleK together!! Craven!!!
My avatar came about as a result of my computer (near) illiteracy. There is an avatar file in my computer, but I couldn't spring one loose, so I used one from the file in this site. That was easy even for me. Trite as it may be, I felt that smiley face was fitting. It pretty well describes my nature as viewed by my friends and myself.
I changed my avatar temporarily. Just trying to get into the Christmas spirit. And not the bottled kind in case you were wondering.
