John Cornyn dared to directly refute the leaders of the Republican party on National radio today. When asked about what he thought about Limbaugh and Gingrich calling Sonia Sotomayor ´racist´, he said.
Quote:"I think it's terrible... This is not the kind of tone any of us want to set when it comes to performing our constitutional responsibilities of advise and consent.
Neither one of these men are elected Republican officials. I just don't think it's appropriate. I certainly don't endorse it. I think it's wrong."
Seems to me that Republican Senators are in a bit of a bind... caught between their crazy base and anything resembling common sense. Is this a glimmer of hope for the GOP? Or will we see an apology to Mr. Limbaugh next week?
