The Olympic Motto is "Citius, Altius, Fortius (which is supposed to mean "swifter, highter, stronger".

What is the Latin word for "better" (i.e.: "Try to be better than you were before"?

George, who usually answers the latin threads, is off on vacation and may not notice this for several days.
I seem to remember melior, but have to double check.

Yes, that comes up when I google 'better'.

I took latin a millenium ago for four years but the only book from that I have left isn't a dictionary. George has a more complete knowledge, if you can wait, JohnNaber. (Welcome to a2k, by the way.)

Not to be nosy, but did you go to USC?
