Still gaining. 225 lb today, for a BMI that I don't want my pocket calculator to calculate. It's a tiny pocket calculator, and my BMI would be too heavy for it. And what's worse, I have no excuse, not even a lame one. I think I'll go to McDonalds now, have a big hamburger with fries and beer, and pity myself.
You should take up rock climbing - it's shaved 10 pounds off of me in the last month and a half.
Yeah, I'm not as good as this guy.
Cycloptichorn
From June-July, I went from 220 pounds to 225 pounds. In August my wife gave me a plastic bag filled with carrots and celery every morning to take to work. I went from 225 pounds to 218 pounds (but I feel like a pet rabbit).
@wandeljw,
I had a little bit of a makeover (new haircut, new lipstick, some new clothes) today:
Jes - you look wonderful! I love the new Do!
Yes indeed! Great haircut!

You look fantastic! And judging by the slimness of your face, you've won our race too -- you were just too chivalrous to mention it. Congratulations to you for both the look and the victory!
@Thomas,
Thanks
, but I'm still officially 188 or so (need to lose another 3 ...).
We had a great time but man oh man da Natick Collection (where Nordstrom is, and Talbot's and all of that) has some mightily expensive stuff.
@jespah,
Current weight: 187.6 lbs.
BMI:
30.3
Not quite there yet. Need to lose, heh, another 1.6 lbs. we're going on vacation later this week, so it may not happen.
@jespah,
You sure know how to build suspense.
I'm back at 223 lb myself. I stopped gaining (knock on wood); I'm back on the wagon (knock on wood again); but it's a drag to have to lose those same old pounds
again.
If I cheat, which I've always done so I'm consistent, I got my bmi below 25 for the first time in a zillion years, to 24.1. I'm 5" 5 1/2, so I always put in 5.5 when the calculator asks for inches. Turns out that even if I don't cheat and call it 5'5" it's 24.5. Ok! Now to stay steady and get enough nutrition and exercise.
I remember calculating it when I was heftier and I was close to 30, 29 and something.
Love Jes' new look. Happy for Thomas for the turn around. Glad to see DJ's stepping up to the plate, or away from the plate if you prefer... good going, dj.
@ossobuco,
Actually, you're not 'cheating' if you round your height down. On the contrary, that makes your BMI tell you you're fatter than you actually are. To cheat with better effect, I recommend rounding your height up from 5' 5 1/2" to 5'6".
@Thomas,
Well, 6' would really work well.
PS Thanks, osso!
Hi everybody!
Two weeks ago I was at 220 pounds. Now, after spending the weekend at my parent's house, I am back to 225 pounds!
Right now, I am sitting in my cubicle at work eating carrots, celery, and lettuce (stuffed into a plastic bag by my wife).

Frustrating, isn't is? (Late summer in Germany sucks without onion cake and
Federweisser.)

got on the scale this morning...
182.
am looking forward to soon being the heaviest one in the house-hold...
@Thomas,
German parents and fluctuating weight are the 2 things Thomas and I have in common. Maybe there is a specialized support group for this.
@wandeljw,
184.8 lbs. this morning.
BMI is
29.8.
I am no longer obese. I am now overweight.
I did it.
@jespah,
Congratulations! I just had my first full week at a hair below 25. It took 15 months, but I'm there! Unfortunately, my resolve has been weak recently, so I need to focus again. Still, I went shopping and bought new clothes since the old ones were falling off of me.
@jespah,
gorgeous (not that you weren't always), and CONGRATS!!!!
