The four group winners of the first night were:

Irish deerhound--a gorgeous dog
Scottie--tres cute
Standard poodle--magnificent dog with a stoopid frou-frou hairdo
Puli--Hungarian dog with a Rastafarian look

The scottie, poodle, and puli are black. The deerhound is grayish. A dark but glorious bunch.

I kinda like the puli. He showed some real personality in the ring.

Anybody watching. Who you rootin' for?

@Roberta,

Okay, I'll guess. This is about a dog show.

@McTag,
Yes, McTag, it's a dog show. Sorry I didn't make that clear. The Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden began last night and will conclude tonight.

@Roberta,
The is one time I'd like to have a tv..

I'm somewhat against the upper dog breeding world, except that I love the dogs.

I am, of course, for the corgi. Any corgi. There was one, a cardigan, (did you see the big set of photos? something like 150 of them - I forget the source) in a smaller photo series this morning.

I'm rather keen on Ibizan and Pharouh (sp) hounds. And I've a sentimental attachment to one line of dobermans.

@ossobuco,
Saw the corgis, osso, avec and sans tails. Wonderful dogs.

The ibizan and pharoah hounds were gorgeous. Lean and athletic. The Irish deerhound won the hound group.

One line of dobermans?

@Roberta,
Yeh. My business partner's sister raises dobies, and one in the line had won best in show at some point, if I have the story straight. The dobie who was Pacco's pal was not raised as a show dog because of a certain fault. Anyway, he was a darling, sweet, motherly dog. Used to stand over Pacco at doggy day car when Pacc got agita' from the big fiercies.

Thanks for the visuals, dj. I'm confused. The puli won the herding group.

IM BOYCOTTING THESE FUCKIN SHOWS CAUSE THEY DONT RECOGNIZE CATAHOULAS> They only started recognizing border collies in AKC when they gave up trying to convince the Stock Dog associations to breed for conformity.
Conformity sucks out the dogs brains and leaves you with an Irish setter. (worlds stupidest breed of dog)

DONT gimme **** about Irishes , My dad used to raise the things for field and bench trials. DUM DUM DUM DOGS.

@farmerman,
Yes, I did. Three, actually. They were quite smart for seconds at a time.
