The Prospero character in "Forbidden Planet" and King Lear in "My Own Private Idaho" I immediately recognized. I guess it's is Iago in "Lion King" -- the other two are more vague to me now without looking them up.
I have to get ready to go shopping (I'm Mom's transporation today for the after Thanksgiving madness so I won't post anything right now -- someone take over for awhile!)
If someone answers on the other clue in quotes from movies, it'll have to go on hold for a few hours or someone can ask a second question. I know Raggedy was trying to keep it down to no more than two but more often one as some get completely lost (and I can understand that!)

You all are so obviously way over my head with
respect to your immense knowledge and memory
of movies, but I do enjoy following along

JerryR: Here's a guess. They all played in movies where only their voice was heard.
Stiller - Lion King III
Ricci - Small Soldiers
Waterston - The Unfinished Journey
Griffith - Stuart Little
Bergen - Champion (she was heard singing)

JerryR - A great answer, but not the one I'm looking for.
Hint: All the movies have a common subject and the movie title refers to the subject.
