Oh yes. He's a handsome Knight. Someday you'll have to explain to me how you manage to get the right size pictures. I want to make pretty little pictures just like you do. (whining and stamping my foot)

Hi, Raggedy and mac (and anyone else who's here). This isn't related to the game, but I just wanted to share this story with people who will appreciate it. Last night, I passed through Times Square on my way to the theatre (a revival of Our Town, with Paul Newman as the Stage Manager -- talk about perfect casting!). Times Square was insanely crowded, mostly with tourists who apparently couldn't wait until tonight to start their New Year's Eve celebrations. (People were actually walking down the middle of the street, oblivious to traffic.) Anyway, at one point three teenage girls pushed their way through a group of people who were waiting for the light to change. Two of the girls were kind of hanging back, as if they were reluctant to be so bold, but the ringleader urged them on by saying, "You just have to say, 'I'm walkin' here, I'm walkin' here' -- you know, like in Miss Congeniality."

I almost took the girl by the arm and said, "I think it's great that you're applying movie quotes to real life, but there's something you should know about where that quote comes from." But then I realized that not only was Midnight Cowboy made before she was born, but there's a good chance it was made before her parents were old enough to see it -- and I felt so old I didn't have the energy to say anything to her at all.

Happy New Year!

bree! What a great story! (Of course we'll appreciate it!) That's bizarre that the quote has been reborn that way...

Happy New Year to you too...

HELLO BREE. Your story is sooo funny. We have missed your stories. They definitely belong here. Very Happy You felt old??? I still think of Midnight Cowboy as a Newbie. Laughing I thought of you when I watched the New Years Eve countdown from Times Square on TV. What a great place! And what a thrill that must have been to see Paul Newman in Our Town. (sigh) Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us. Happy New Year and please share all your theater experiences here.
