I don't know if this is what you have in mind, but they've all starred with their significant others:

Mia Farrow & Woody Allen in Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy & many others
Julia Roberts & Lyle Lovett in The Player and Pret-a-Porter (to say nothing of Kiefer and who else...?)
Jessica Lange & Sam Shepard in Crimes of the Heart and others
Anne Bancroft & Mel Brooks in To Be or Not to Be and others
Geena Davis & Jeff Goldblum in The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy (and she was directed by Renny Harlin in Cutthroat Island and The Long Kiss Goodnight)

Yes to Stranger. It's a lot easier when you're asking the question. Laughing Your other guesses never entered my mind and they all fit in perfectly.

Well, love and man are such common words that most actors have made movies using those words! I didn't really have much hope for either guess...
