Mac: Evelyn Nesbit (Elizabeth McGovern) married mentally disturbed Harry K. Thaw, (Norman Mailer) a Pittsburgh millionaire. Thaw commissioned architect, Stanford White, to do a sculpture of his wife, and then, became so jealous of their relationship, he shot White to death. In an earlier film version, The Girl on the Red Velvet Swing, Joan Collins played Nesbit, Ray Milland played White and Farley Granger played Thaw. I think the architect was the owner of the red velvet swing, but I'm not positive.

One of these days I want to read Ragtime.
