He was an insurance salesman in Barton Fink too.

He was also a detective in Fallen.

I'm thinking about Boolie's factory...I s-m'ed the play in 1992, but I don't recall off-hand...

It was a textile factory.

It was barely shown in the movie. In an early scene, on his way to the job interview at Boolie's office, Hoke rescues two workmen who are stuck in an elevator by describing to them exactly which little thingamabob to jiggle.
