Aside from getting a humidifier going, is there anything I can put IN my nose to help alleviate the super dryness I am having? It's really bad this year and I can't stand it!

@Bella Dea,
I know you said "aside from getting a humidifier going" but since Izzie covered that (you can also make your own, lemme know if you want the recipe), lemme put in a good word for humidifiers.

I have one running this year for the first time ever and it has made SUCH a difference. It may or may not have anything to do with the fact that sozlet hasn't missed a single day of school due to illness yet this year (knock on wood) AND got through winter break without getting sick, but I'm definitely noticing a lot of incidental stuff like much better skin (not that horrible winter dryness), no chapped lips, better nose/ breathing, etc., etc. Really seems to be doing good stuff. Takes some maintenance but not that bad.

@sozobe,
What kind of humidifier do you have Soz?

@mismi,
Holmes Cool Mist. You're evidently supposed to use the cool kinds (as opposed to the ones that work with steam/ heat) if you have kids in the house.

@sozobe,
I have an Emerson cool air for the whole house...it's strange though - sometimes it seems to work great - others not so much. I wonder why...

@sozobe,
Yes, home recipe please!

And do you have one that is for just one room or the whole house?

@Bella Dea,
Home recipe:

- 1 pint purified water (I get jugs of the stuff at the grocery store)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (no iodine)
- A dash of baking soda (not much, maybe 1/8 of a teaspoon)

Heat up the purified water until it's a bit below body temperature, mix in salt and baking soda until dissolved. Administer with a bulb syringe -- aim at the back of your head. (If you have one for Ade already, best to get a new one for yourself.)

There are also "neti pots" which can be used for this -- or you can buy a little thing of Ocean or whatever commercial brand, and then just refill with your own saline (as long as you keep the container very clean).

My house is really open, which helps with humidifying I think. I keep the humidifier in the living room which is sort of the center of the house and it goes pretty much everywhere from there. Sometimes I'll put it in one of the bedrooms for a while if it seems more dry than the house in general.

Same problem, and I'm getting lots of relief from (1) a small, cheap humidifier in my bedroom(the Crane penguin, got it at Target), and (2) sinus rinse (the NeilMed bottle). These two have been a godsend for my chronically dry "winter nose."

While the one in the foreground might do little but cover your face and snap your neck back, the one in background, if directed carefully, should eliminate your problem in a prompt fashion and cause your sleep to be blissful.
