It's officially past noon here on the east coast. I'll be back throughout the evening posting my evening drinks of choice. Feel free to join in, this was a lot of fun last year!
I'm considering my beverage of choice, DTKO, and I'm considering something a bit more foo-foo this year, over the Arrogant Bastard ale. I may pick up the makings for mojitos:
Put the mint leaves into a glass, and squeeze in the lime juice. Add the powdered sugar, and smash the mint up. Add crushed ice, then the rum, and top off with the club soda.
Very Cuban ... very Hemingway .... I imagine I'll have a bit of a headache tomorrow.

Very nice.
I will probably have quite the variety.
I'm going to start with something called the "Missouri Chanisaw Lovesong."

Which involves what ..... ?
Don't know yet. I guess I'll know when I see my roommate make it.

Hi, MA!
How are you feeling?
'Allo! Well enough to be posting anyhow, thank you for asking. It's snowing here and expected to continue all day and most of the night. I do not expect to be going out tonight in my condition, not even for the fireworks.

@Francis,
i'm sure that francis will be pleased to hear that my "poison of choice" is
doctor's order : it's beneficial to the digestion !
in a pinch i'll make do with
even better with just a few drops of bitters .
to your health !

Ahhh, you bring back memories, hbg. Those two were particular favorites of my mother on very special occasions, particularly the Benedictine. She would always refer to it as "that monks' drink." Dad always preferred something more straight forward, less sweet, e.g. Remy Martin or a Bisquit.
merry andrew !
good to see you back : GOOD HEALTH AND GOOD LUCK FOR 2008 !
on a "serious" note : the gastroenterologist at the local hospital told me that a glass of benedictine would be very beneficial for my digestion . i didn't even try to argue with him

I, for sure, am, Hbg, stunned at the wisdom of your choices...
