Does drinking beverages containing caffeine cause you to burn up more calories?
@gollum,
Caffeine definitely stimulates the metabolism, green tea too.
No ; tea and coffee have no calories: but the milk and sugar add 90 calories.
Coca cola, because it has a high sugar content will make you fat.
Excercise is what burns calories: if the e numbers in the drink cause you to get hyper active then you will excercise more therefore lose wieght.
Sugar in itself does not cause hyperactivity
@Fountofwisdom,
Does caffeine stimulate the metabolism?
I've found that cutting caffeine has actually helped me to lose weight. Partly it's probably that I'm better hydrated longer, partly I suspect that I'm not super-antsy and wanting to constantly graze.
One should drink only 1 or 2 cups of tea or coffee in a day.
@Askme,
If one drinks more, what harm is caused? What is the source of your information?
@jespah,
Really? is that true? does cutting your caffeine consumption really help you to lose weight?
Caffeine promotes the release of fatty acids into the blood stream. This helps
only if they are used by the muscles right away. If the fatty acids are released
from storage, but are not used by the muscles, then they go right back into
storage.
