Thanks for the support. Please reconsider your line of thinking as far as my comment. G-smell is an adult negro wannabe gangbanger acting like an 8-year old with a can of spraypaint. Follow? Check his profile sometime. He's a real swell guy....

yes - that's marginally better - now I understand that your main point is that he's a wannabe nigger and not that all eight year olds with spray paint cans should be called niggers.

Not that I agree - again, how the hell would I know - I don't KNOW him...which brings me to the point that I find it so interesting that anyone on this forum who hasn't met anyone else can think they possibly have any idea of or come to any conclusion about what a person is or isn't...
I just don't get that complete of a picture...and I'm a pretty careful and observant reader...
People joke or speak in a certain way and that convinces you that you KNOW everything about him or her and you wouldn't like them...

CJ - people have facets...I know that you're a loving father - despite what I might think about your politics and your guns - that right there tells me I can't paint you all one way...so you shouldn't do it to anyone else.

Rebecca:
the individual in question very ofen was causticly, toxicly obscene.
I was surprized to discover that he considers himself to be humorous.
I thought that he was only being intentionally nasty.

I found his posts intolerable and therefore applied the Ignore button.
It is against CJ 's philosophy to use that button.

I coud not blame anyone for retaliating.
(It seems unlikely that the offender is juvenile.)

Incidentally, I will have the OM SIG in for a brunch buffa
at the Ambassador Grill on 42nd St, near the UN,
at 2 PM on Christmas Day.

If u r back in town and are interested lemme know.

@OmSigDAVID,
OmSig! Just what this thread needed!

Funny that you sympathize with cj on this issue. I understand that you are a boring Puritan and a gun nut to boot, but is posting a tag insinuating that cj has a tiny penis more offensive that his racial epithets? You'd probably think so.

Anyway, I find you dry, nonsensical, and annoying. Which is why I, too, applied the Ignore button.

Toodles.

It must be frustrating! Instead all we have are a keyboard and our minds. And you've clearly run out of "thought ammo."

Sadly, their mental processes are the military equivalent of nerf darts.

Actually, it' s more like we're firing 50-caliber shells into the gelatinous grey matter of the left. You can't kill what is already dead.

You don't think it's odd, to have fantasies about killing people all day - but being too much of a pussy to ever follow through? You probably ought to. It's not healthy.

@OmSigDAVID,
David - I think I must miss an awful lot of what goes on around here-I've never really seen anything I'd call obscene - yes immature- yes not funny although the people obviously think they're being very funny...cruel...nasty....petty....mean-spirited...rude...yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes...all of that...

But what I remember about Gargamel is that he liked Graham Greene and he has what I consider to be a somewhat eclectic and at times interesting taste in music.

You know- what I decide to consider and remember about CJ is that he obviously loves his family - was proud of his new home (he posted a picture one time).

I know all that other stuff goes on...so what if people are fucked up in some ways and lovely in others - we're all somewhat of a mixed bag - even you and me...
we couldn't be more different - but I think you're intelligent and funny and I give you the right to be whatever else you want to be - as long as it's not hurtful and spiteful to other people.

I don't really care what CJ says about Gargamel - that's not really any of my business anyway - but I do care that he used the term nigger in the context in which he used it - 'an eight year old nigger'. I don't care if he was talking hypothetically about a nonexistent eight year old. The point is - it slid so easily off his keyboard that it seems to me that he'd have no trouble saying something like that to a child in real life - or he'd be thinking it as he viewed an eight year old black child with a spray paint can in his or her hand - and it's detrimental to our society. Period ...I didn't like it...that's all.

I can't meet you on Christmas - change of plans - I'm planning to be in Scotland instead of NY. I'll be in NY around my birthday in the spring though - so maybe we can meet up then.

I thank you for the invite though...

The tags have been the only thing making me feel a little less crappy about seeing all the racist things that get said here... I know I shouldn't let it get to me, but I feel really upset and saddened at seeing racist slurs just going unchallenged whenever I come here now. (I don't really think it would be that impossible for there to be a LITTLE moderation. Yeah, I know, vote it down, ignore the user, whatever. I just think there should be some sign of disapproval from the Powers That Be, but I get that that's not the way things are here now.) Anyway, a lot of times the tags are the only sign that SOMEBODY out there thinks it's not okay. I suppose people using the ignore feature has something to do with it, maybe a lot of the regulars just aren't seeing it... but whatever the reason, it's made the site much less appealing to me. When I do come here, it's been a *big* relief to me to see these tags on cjhsa's horrible threads. Sure it's childish, but the racist **** that's been being posted doesn't really rate anything else... Anyway, I didn't know who was doing them, but I've really appreciated the tags, they make me feel less alone. Smile

@cyphercat,
The problem though cyphercat is that people like Gargamel have been tagging EVERY ONE of cj's posts with "Racist" and worse.....even when the thread itself has nothing to do with race.

The tag-assaults are not reflective of the topics/posts in question...they are mass-attacks on the user himself.

I have no problem with gargamel or anyone else tagging a racist thread as being a racist thread. But when CJ posts about gardening, he doesn't need that thread tagged with "Racist gun-nut with a Tiny Penis".

Look at this thread....why the hell is it tagged "guns". Now everytime I click on guns to do some reading I'm going to get this thread. It's mis-tagged and this has been happening to a lot of posts.

Here is a list of what the tag "guns" will get you.

CJ post a thread wishing people a "Happy Thanksgiving" and it gets tagged with "guns". It's just stupid bullshit; and gargamel and people like him who are doing this are just being sophomoric.
