I've been waiting for the first DVR directed ad.

Something like 30 seconds of the same image, with words on the screen for a 2-4 seconds and then changing. You'd have to have something for those not DVRing through the commercial though, a voice over or something.

So for example, you'd see a bag of baked lays on the screen, and then you'd see words pop up one at a time and stay on screen for say 4 seconds if you were watching it real time, but only 1 second if you're zooming through.

-> Go buy.
-> Baked Lays.
-> Now with.
-> Less Fat.

I'm sure someone is crunching the numbers on that type of ad.

@Phoenix32890,
I'm pretty sure it was on TV, Skittles commercials are weird! They seem to like making awkward and uncomfortable commercials.

@Phoenix32890,
The overuse of 'once' popular expressions or words, i.e: Bam for Crest Toothpaste, in reference to Emeril LaGasse remarks about the magic touch he puts on his dishes. It's bad enough he overuses it for that, let alone any other reason.
