Here is an interesting outcome to the election, and one that is at least as historic as the Obama win...

Senate President Sylvia Larsen, D-Concord, said this was the first legislative body in the country to ever have a majority female membership.

"This is quite a milestone, and we thought it was possible leading up to Election Day," Larsen said.

Women for the past two years have made up 37 percent of the New Hampshire House.


So it appears that in the NH state senate, women are the majority of the senators.
That hasnt happened before either.

I think it's marvellous that women are involved and running - let alone winning. Definitely something we need to work on here in Canada.

women are a majority in this country, the US, so why arent more women in positions of power?
