I
went to an early voting site yesterday and it was amazing! There was a three hour wait to vote and people were just queuing up. My guess is that my wait on Tuesday is going to be 20 minutes so I was stunned to see so many people turned out to vote. Cars were going everywhere, people driving by were yelling out candidate names, it was nuts. It's going to be interesting to see what national turnout will be this year. I bet we beat England for the first time in forever. This article says we might be
highest percentage wise in a century.
I was amazed at the early turn out here in Raleigh as well. The lines were long, but moved quickly and efficiently. Everyone seemed to be getting the instruction regarding president/straight ticket... do both. The staff was upbeat, helpful and pleasant despite the long hours they had already put in.
Overall, very happy I voted early.
So, when the polls close is that it? if there are a thousand people in line at the end of polling on Tuesday do they get sent away?
I've been voting absentee ballot for many years now to miss the long lines at the voting place. It's also convenient for me, because I don't know whether I'll be away from home on November 4th.
