CNN-dot-com shows Obama taking Ohio based on exit polls of just over 3,000 voters.

OK, so there's now one county in Indiana that the website of the Indiana Secretary of State has all precincts in for: Pike County.

Pike County must be rural, cause it only has five thousand something voters. They went for McCain, unsurprisingly, by 8%, but Bush had carried it by 21%. Makes for a 13% swing, but unfortunately Obama needs a 21% swing in Indiana to win the state, so this very first result suggests he's going to fall short. But there's like 90 counties, so dont give up yet Wink

@Setanta,
What do you mean "taking"? Like, they called it on the website, or just that he's in the lead?

When it's that small of a sample it's really meaningless... (A certain precinct can trend one way or another.)

@sozobe,
Oh sorry, you specified exit polls.

Again, suspicious of exit polls.

@nimh,
This will be a landside. A win for Obama in IN would indicate a huge landside.

@sozobe,
Re: Indiana -- I remember from the primary that there is one county up in the corner near Chicago that nearly gave IN to Obama. Its results came in late but it has a lot of votes.

Whoa! Flurry of states called for Obama!

@sozobe,
He's kicking ass in Florida... and that state alone should pretty much clinch it!

CNN is now saying that they are NOT relying on exit polls, and that they are reporting actual votes cast which have been counted.

That was exactly my point, RJB . . . right now i'm depending on CNN, and CNN is using exit poll data.

Please dont go on the exit poll data just now.
