Okay, who wants to have a little side contest on what time they officially declare a winner tonight/tomorrow?

I am going to go with 11:55 PM tonight.

I don't know about the rest of you all; but I'll feel confident picking the winner at 2:16 pm Eastern Time. (Obama)

Add me into the mix

Obama 348 - McCain 190

I've set up my election day game/war room. Fired up, ready to... oh yeah, I already went. Still fired up though.

@kickycan,
If by "they" you mean the media, they have agreed to wait until polls close on the west coast at 8 pm PT - which would be 11 pm on the east coast. I assume that anyone still in line at the closing time could still vote and the networks might respect that and hold off making the call. Put me down for 1 am ET.

@Diest TKO,
This might be useful for any geeks among you, I just posted it on Observationalism:

Election night toolkit: data and resources

An overview of some fine election night resources and what you can find there. Overviews of key races and counties, but also resources with demographical data and historical election results.

@CalamityJane,
Can someone re-post the link to the thing that allows you to give states to one or the other candidate and come up with a total that way?

My baseline is 353 - 185 (in favor of Obama) but I want to mess with it a little more...

@sozobe,
This was nimh's post on the other thread, soz.

nimh wrote:

Do you see a map where VA, OH, IA, CO, NM and NV are blue, and no other states that Bush won in 2004? End result Obama 311, McCain 227?

That's my prediction.

If that does indeed work, that would mean you dont have to go through the print screen business to share your personal map. Just go here, click the "Your Map" tab, make your own map, and then click on the blue button on the left that says "Share link to this map". And post the URL you get here.

@Debra Law,
Thanks guys!

OK, messing with that I first came up with the same one -- 353-185 -- then 364 -174, which is the same as O'Bill's pick.

@Debra Law,
Thanks, Debra Law, for cleaning up the Electoral College tally sheet. I was ending up with quotes within quotes within quotes of myself as folks chimed in.
On another thread, I find Kuvase has it as Obama - 393; McCain - 145. Please add that pick.
