A second rural county of Indiana is in full - already has been for like half an hour, but I am of course suddenly having extreme internet problems (keep getting disconnected, the problem started at 1 AM, the exact time that the first states started counting.
Anyway, the county is Jay - it went by 33% to Bush in '04, now goes to McCain by just 8%. A 25% swing then, more than the 21% Obama needs statewide to win the state.
Obama's showing an early lead in........ Texas!
@OCCOM BILL,
CNN calls NH for Obama! That's a good one.
@sozobe,
Yes, and Obama wanted to have NH for win, sweet victory for him.
And yay for 'Godless' Kay Hagan in NC!
MSNBC TV just called a win for Kay Hagan (D) NC -- defeating Elizabeth Dole.
Also called Alabama for McCain
Obama 103
McCain 43
@CalamityJane,
Right, I hadn't thought of that aspect... that was the sorest loss of the primaries.
Happy about Hagan...
MSNBC just called Georgia (15 electoral votes) for McCain
@sozobe,
Grrrrrr he's slipping a bit in Fla
@Rockhead,
Thanks, I was watching CNN and they are being VERY conservative
MSNBC Florida:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25361792
34 percent of precincts reporting
Obama 52%
McCain 47%
Rural North Carolina is not cooperating for Obama.
Eg, Lincoln County (37,000 voters) went from going for Bush by 36% to going for McCain by 33%. Swain county (just 5,000 voters or so) went from going for Bush by 3% to going for McCain by 2%. Statewide, Obama needs a 13% swing.
@nimh,
CNN puts PA in Obama's bag!
@Debra Law,
Gutsy call before Atlanta comes in.
@OCCOM BILL,
Yes, PA for Obama - big slap for McCain as he campaigned actively there for a long time.

When Springfield comes in, I'll be sitting pretty.
Congress:
FL-24: Looks like incumbent Republican Tom Feeney will be defeated.
FL-8: Another likely Democratic pick-up.
FL-16: Democratic congressman Mike "I've had numerous affairs" Mahoney is going down to defeat.
NH-1: Carol Shea-Porter looks like she'll hang on. NH goes blue from top to bottom.
NC-8: Larry Kissell leading in very early returns against Robin "Liberals Hate America" Hayes. Things are looking good for the Democrats in the Tarheel State.

But New Hanover Country switched from Red to Blue. CNN exit polls showed Obama with a slight lead; better than FL, not as good as VA
