I love the B&W works I've seen by Shewolf. Just saw this blue ribbon winner from the state fair and wondered what qualifies as blue ribbon worthy to others.
Do you have a favorite B&W? What is it about the photo that you like?
@squinney,
My favorite is a black and white of my daughter when she was little.
@CalamityJane,
What a treasure, CJane! No explanation of why its a favorite is needed. Every parent should have one like that.
@Region Philbis,
Ooh, that is striking.
I like the everyday, people doing normal things and the whimsical or odd moments. Geometric shots don't usually capture me unless they are minimalist or the lighting itself "speaks" as does this one.
@squinney,
One of my favorite Paris street scenes:
Give me B&W shots of steamy steam engines in cold eather where the steam and smoke encircle the trains engine like a wreath .
Dont remember who made the best of these.
@squinney,
Ya can't have this discussion without mentioning Ansel Adams.
I've climbed to the top of Vernal Falls and beyond to the top of Nevada Falls.
@cjhsa,
Agree, Ceej. I had Ansel Adams in my dorm room... way back when. His work is classic.
