My husband's parents didn't come to our wedding. I was, y'know, this horrible person.. both older than him and not catholic.
They got to like me over 20+ years. Let's say I worked at respecting his mother. I always did like the father.

Anyway, Baldimo, I am sorry for your loss.. and glad your father will be accepted , to whatever extent.
