Post widths have been expanded?

It appears to me that now individual post widths have been expanded. This means having to use the horizontal scroll bar every time you change pages.

My set up here hasn't changed. My screen resolution is still set at 800 x 600.

1- Can someone confirm that post widths have changed?

2- Why was this done?

It's really, really annoying to have to scroll over to centre the posts in the middle, so you can read them.

@Reyn,
I haven't noticed a difference.

But my screen resolution is at 1280 x 800.

@Ticomaya,
Yes, I would imagine, Tico, at that resolution you may not.

To me, it's about 1 1/2 inches wider.

@Reyn,
It seems the same to me. I use a couple of different computers.

@NickFun,
Well, I know I'm not imagining this.

I noticed it right away when I came on the site tonight. In order to see the right side of a post, I had to scroll over. Before, no scrolling was necessary.

Come on, there must be somebody else who has noticed this!

@Reyn,
I have not required to do any scrolling. I'm afraid it's just you Reyn. But don't feel bad! It is a mark of honor to be singled out!

My screen resolution is 1280 x 800. I have seen posts that have the scroll bar in them. I just haven't had to use it. Otherwise, I have seen it too Reyn.

I prefer 800 x 600 pixels as well. No scrolling necessary with Explorer, but I see it in Firefox. If you get someone's attention (might try the help desk); be sure and mention the problem is with Firefox.

@Reyn,
Possibly have static instead of liquid for layout in preferences?

@msolga,
Yeah, I noticed it as well. I don't mind scrolling vertically, but I hate to scroll horizontally, yet I don't want to change my resolution.

It might depend on what you're using, as some of you seem to be affected, others not. I have AOL for my ISP and there's no difference at all in post resolution. Waiting to hear from Robert and.or Nick.

@Reyn,
Yes;
I have.
I agree that it is troublesome and labor intensive
to read those posts.

Yup, I agree, that was the first thing I thought of.

My setting was LIQUID before and after the post width change. I have to conclude someone is tinkering with the site. I've noticed no announcement to this effect on the blog.

I'll be darned if I'm going to change my screen resolution from 800 x 600 just for this site.

And, yes, I'm using Explorerer 7.

I don't find the page stretched requiring strolling as much as we did at first. But I think it is still possible to post an image or IP address that stretches the page. I keep my resolution well under max to make certain stuff more readable for me, but I too rarely need to scroll any more. It still does occasionally happen though.

I realize now that it is not just the post width that has changed, but the page width of the whole site.

Those with 800 x 600 screen resolution will notice this if you go to the home page. Half of the "Sort By" box is cut off. Before, the entire box was visible, and have the various links on the left-hand side of the page visible as well.
