@ebrown p,
When it's all over ebrown, that is how many of us will look back on it because it is an incredible moment in our history. No doubt. But right now, it's got me uptight and anxious and wishing that we were voting tomorrow. The ugly side is really coming out now, thanks to Ms. Palin, and will only intensify with each speech she gives. The spin doctors and the media in general, who obviously have a whole other agenda and are willing"desperate even" to keep the fight going for dollars/ratings are totally shameless. But my husband is obsessed with it, my brother is as well, and I'm just so tired of hearing about it that I could scream.
Watching people show their ass and expose just how low they're willing to sink has never been a favorite pastime of mine. At least, not in the real world. JR Ewing on Dallas was one thing but the nastiness going on within this election is too discomforting. On several levels. Some of us are just too delicate for the rough and tumble world of politics.
But I did hear some startling news on a personal level last week and I'd like to share it"
Almost ten years ago, I used to work with this sharp and jazzy older woman. She's in her seventies now, white woman, born and raised in Decatur, Georgia. Scarlett O'Hara had nothing on this belle and of course, it goes without saying that she was raised a staunch republican, buried two husbands who were, of course, republicans, and she voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004. But George Bush has made her so sick and has disgusted her to such a degree that early on during this campaign season she snuck a peek at Barack Obama and now, she is one of his biggest and most active supporters. He's her next president and if you say no he isn't, you've got a fight on your hands, believe me.
I like that story. Just wanted to spread it around.
