@ehBeth,
I think its that thing I mentioned earlier. She has this thing she does that I am having trouble describing. Its like "you betcha" and "doggonit" (which she actually just said). Scrunchy nose and a punch in the arm.

After her asking if she can call him Joe, I'm predicting that at some point she's going to come up with the phrase, "Your name may be Joe, but you are no Joe Sixpack."

Heh, she just did something like this.

There you go again Joe, you're looking back again, all you talk about is the Bush Administration.

@FreeDuck,
Good dig on Biden "and yours was a lame attempt at a joke too because nobody got it". It got laughs.

Uh oh... tough question for Palin on whether she agrees with Cheney about the vp not being part of the executive branch...

She is parrying well so far, not really answering.

@McGentrix,

Conservative judges are good, so what's the issue with that? Do you really think anyone would get rid of Roe v. wade? really?

I don't agree about Conservative judges. I think Thomas and Suter are Neanderthals and the death of Rehnquist was a relief to anyone who wants this country to move forward. Yes, I do think there will be a challenge to Roe/Wade if McCain gets in. McCain has always been solid anti-Abortion. I would like to hear Palin say she would support the current system, we have no evidence of that. We do know she is anti-choice based on her beliefs and I can't believe she should would put her self-righteous beliefs aside if she gets the power to change things.

@FreeDuck,
ok, I have to say I was really grossed out at the beginning when Palin blew a kiss to the audience and then shook Biden's hand. I would have stepped back from that hand. I know she's probably not contagious with anything, but ickkkkkkk

I'm sure that's an inside joke from her trainers... a subtle way of putting lipstick on a pig. Wink

Palin was coached well, but that's about it. She was taught to attack and
that she did - half of it won't be true, as we'll find out tomorrow soon enough.
Basically she said nothing. She could not come up with one statement what
the McCain/Palin ticket will do domestically/internationally, should they win.

@FreeDuck,
Thank you very much for the fan-o-meter updates FreeDuck!

I didnt see the debate, and last time I saw a part of the Obama/McCain debate but I missed out on the fan-o-meter, and I was kinda pissed about that. Such a real-time measure of people's reactions is sure more interesting than what the candidates are actually saying, which is all just talking points anyway.

So thanks - also to JPB - I like "man-o-meter" :-)

I agree that she was well coached on the talking points. But I think the attacking is all her.

You know what I wonder, nimh. I wonder if perception of who wins the debates is skewed by having access to the fan-o-meter. I remember it influencing me in the last debate toward believing that Obama won. I wonder if I would have thought that if I had not been able to see the lines moving around.

Biden just called Bosnians Bosniaks.

Heh, yeah.

Depending on the context, that can be perfectly legit. Bosniaks = another word for Bosnians, though usually taken to specifically describe those who identify their nationality as "Muslim" (as opposed to "Serb" or "Croat").

Palin doesnt admit to a weakness or a mistake. When asked about her weakness she talked up her executive experience. When asked about changing her mind about something she cannot bring herself to name anything more than not vetoing budgets in Wasila immediately followed by her justification for that.
