Thank you so very much for your help, and for doing your bit jumpstarting us into this too.

burning question -- do you want to use your A2K names or other names?

Another question... what do you want the tagline to be?

I like Bfn's idea of Quibbles & Bits! Without anything added, so just ver. 1.

To explain this: it's mostly b/c I'd like to remain anonymous here.

I mean, I could never be the combative and contentious prick I can be here (as, urr, on the bailout thread to Robert just now, I'm afraid... Confused ) if I were posting under my own name, could I? Or post as often during apparent working hours? Razz

So -- since I'm guessing that Obs'ism will feature ample linking back to here, I'm hesitant using my real name there either ...

Bah. Complicated, online lives Laughing

@nimh,
Yeah, I went through the same thing!

I had this thought about "well what if the blog becomes big and I'm outed like Nate Silver was [the erstwhile 'poblano'] and then everyone knows who 'sozobe' on A2K is too!!" (I blame Robert, he's talking about promoting it "aggressively" and we all know that Robert + SEO is a powerful combination.)

Then I thought that I still don't know hilzoy's real name.

Then I thought that even with Robert-assisted delusions of grandeur I might be getting ahead of myself.

So sozobe... for now. (All of us kept our A2K noms de net, so I don't have to edit the "about us," yay.)

@engineer,
Sent a password I think but I don't keep sent mails at that account. Re-sent it anyway.

Happy to do the tutorial if need be, pretty straightforward though, give it a try.

I have more than one I think -- which one do you want to use? Whichever one you used most recently?

OK, I put up a polling update for today.

Pity that the graph doesnt fit in full size! I included a linked thumbnail instead. Otherwise it all looks great! Thanks again, Robert!!

@nimh,
It's an awesome post nimh!

I think I've finished adding the blogs mentioned here to the blog roll on the site. Any important ones missing?

I'm very impressed so far -- and such a good-looking bunch of contributors! Now if I could only figure out how to add images.

I'm willing to do more of these group blogs if others are interested. For example, I'd love to turn waggery.com into a blog for satire (think onion) and would set it up if a handful of really silly (not the folks who need proper government training for it either) folk are interested in giving it a try.

Any chance of changing the settings on the Observationalism blog to allow a preview of comments we've written before they are posted so we can check them for proper formatting and syntax when using the format codes?

Note to Observationalism admins:

Brace yourself for some higher traffic. I sent links to some of your articles to a bunch of people and put them on Digg.

@Butrflynet,
soz, i emailed you at your yahoo address, but haven't heard back. sometimes it goes directly to spam from the blog sites, so if you do add me, please let me know. i delete my spam 3-4 times a day, a bit obsessive that way.

I've dugg a couple of their articles, and right before doing so I installed a blog plugin that caches their articles to survive traffic bursts.

Getting one of the bursts would take a bit of luck on those social media sites (or a lot of work) but it should at least be a bit more prepared.
