H2O is all wet. The meltdown is that W wanted to hide the cost of the war and created a bubble in real estate by lowering interest rate. However, Republican hands-off approach to big business led to corporate deception. All the money went into building houses the poor could not afford and real estate speculators. As nobody wants those houses at those prices the mortgages all have a value of zero. The National debt has not disappeared.
