Thank all of you for your concern.
Stephen (my nephew) is going to Germany, then he will be coming home.
He is expected to make a full recovery from his wounds, which are mostly burns and some small shrapnel wounds.
He is coming home on leave while he recovers, but is expected to return to his unit in Iraq.
He is in the navy, and is stationed at Tallil Air Base southwest of Baghdad.
He works on the Orion, a US Navy patrol, search and rescue, and recon aircraft.

Oops...forgot to make my predictions for Week #17; however when I went to do them I noticed that Denver is shown playing both Green Bay and San Diego.

@ElStudHoncho,
Have fun, and say hello to S. Cruz area for me. I don't remember Soquel, but I remember Capitola and Antonelli Begonia Farm.. (will have to drag out a map). Had pals that lived in Felton, back when.

@realjohnboy,
Corrected so that Denver doesn't have to play two games in one day. It should have had Detroit at Green Bay.

I hope this won't confuse anyone. I am thinking that some of yall may have big plans for next week that might make it difficult to post picks for WEEK #17. I would normally put this schedule up on Tuesday (12/23). But here it comes. If you are going to be around between the 23rd and 27th, just ignore this post!

As far as I know they're only playing the Chargers in Week 17.

Edgar is the only player to have picked Week #17. So I just need him to re-pick DETROIT vs Green Bay.

My understanding is that the loser of the BA-DA game is out of the play-offs. I hope DA loses. They will trash the locker room and then trash each other quite publically.

@edgarblythe,
Duly noted, edgar. Thank you. Sorry for the confusion.
So Baltimore kicked butt vs Dallas. The Dallas defense seemed to collapse in the 4th quarter.
Only 3 of us chose Baltimore. Congrats to Edgar, George and Fbaezer.

It is midnight here in the mountains of Virginia. And I am still awake! It is raining or maybe it is sleeting a bit, but I care not a bit. I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. I hope that yall are in the same situation. Stay warm; sleep late.

Except for Rockhead. I still need his picks.

I believed Dallas would have a hangover from the big win last week, john.

@edgarblythe,
Those Cowboys seemed as though they'd sneak away with a win, even though they weren't on top of their form. BUT the Ravens in those last 4 minutes showed they are a legit playoff contender. Now I have no way I can figure out where those Ravens fit in the playoff picture. With the way they came back at the end, well, they could beat a lot of "better" playoff teams.

This has turned out so far to be a GREAT season, filled with unpredictability with rookie QBs leading unlikely teams into playoffs. Watch out for Falcons and Ravens, not to mention the Dolphins.

Good day to yall. I am still missing the rest of the picks from Rockhead despite a gentle nag from me last night on his music thread.
We are unanimous in picking Miami over Kansas City. Only Tico has San Diego beating Tampa Bay and only Jespah takes Oakland over Houston. We all have Chicago in the Monday night game vs Green Bay, except Mysteryman. I would have thought that would be more divided.
There are 2 games in which we are evenly split (as much as you can divide 19):
Atlanta @ Minnesota and Carolina @ the NY Giants.
Johnboy. Foxfyre, Ragman and Imur agree with the majority on all of the games, but we all had Dallas. Fbaezer disagrees on only one game, and he was right, as he had Baltimore.
Alex (6) and Jespah (5) are at the other end of scale.

I watched some of the New England game, to see them running in the snow. But once it got to 38-0 at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, I lost interest.

The early games are over. 7 more to go.
Most all of us got burnt by the Tampa Bay loss. Only Tico had that right.
George has only 1 miscue so far. The best anyone else can do is 3 mis-picks. Cowdoc is out in a field of his own at 6.
