Most all of us faired badly because of Buffalo falling to the Jets and Jacsonville getting knocked off by Cincy.
Through the 8 early games, I have ElStud, Jespah and Imur at 7-1. Johnboy is at 6-2. On the wrong end of the stick are - at 3-5 - Region and Mysteryman.
@realjohnboy,
What the hecky-peck is Denver doing?
Nothing!
ptooooey
Hecky-peck, indeed. Denver's loss hurt many of us, but some here had Miami.
Through 12 games, I have Jespah at 11-1. She did well in the late games. Imur comes in at 10-2. Four of us are at 9-3, and then it goes downhill from there.
This week is between Jespah and Imur. If NE wins, Jespah gets it. If Indy wins, it will come down to a tiebreaker.
@realjohnboy,
Well I'm over .500 at the moment, but can nail it if I lose the next two.
@realjohnboy,
Well, even if the Colts do win, my tiebreak total of 70 seems a little excessive. I remember opting for a similar tiebreaker total last season when the actual final score was 3-0. Good luck Jespah!
@lmur,
Indy won. Jespah and Imur go into tonight's game tied at 11-2. Both have Washington over Pittsburgh. The magic number is not Jespah's prediction of 21 total points scored or Imur's pick of 70. The key number is 45.5 which is the mid-point between 21 and 70. if the total is 45 or less, Jespah wins; 46 or more gives the week yo Imur.

(BTW, I was putting together the schedule of Week #10's games. I see that there is one of those dreaded Thursday night games: Denver (4-4) vs Cleveland (3-5). I know that puts a burden on some folks here. So, to repeat the rules, I hope that everyone gets to pick the entire schedule but if that game gets skipped, no problem as long as the rest of the games get picked by the start of the early games on Sunday. Feel free to choose in just that one game before Thursday night and come later with your thoughts on the other games. Thank you.)
@realjohnboy,
{shakes hands with lmur}
You're a fine competitor, sir.
@jespah,
Congrats Jespah. Now, what can I trade you for that crystal ball? And are you playing the sports book anywhere?
@Foxfyre,
I have a lovely daht board. Or maybe it's a Dodge Daht.
PS Thank you.
Hi. Anything interesting going on today where yall live? The Pittsburgh-Washington game turned out badly for all but 3 of us: McGentrix, Foxfyre and Miz Cowdoc are the only ones celebrating today. The score was something like 23-6 Steelers in a game that wasn't even that close!
Jespah and Imur finish at 11-3 and, based on the tiebreaker, Jespah gets the prize this week. Well done!
Johnboy is kicking himself as he is a PI fan but picked WA. Grr. He and McGentrix finished the week at 10-4. Five 9-5ers: Osso, ElStud, Ragman, Alex and Miz Cowdoc. And five folks came in at 8-6: Tico, Foxfyre, Wandeljw, Fbaezer and Ehbeth. Edgar, George, Cowdoc and Mysteryman managed to breakeven at 7-7. It was a rare bad week for the man from Salmon. Finally, Rockhead and Region stumbled in at 6-8, demonstrating that Region and Jespah don't compare notes.
Back with the up to the minute standings after this barrage of political ads.
@realjohnboy,
and I'll not be copying off of Region no more, as well...
@Rockhead,
But he does have very nice penmanship.
@jespah,
Good goin' to Ms Jessie Rarebit!

The Best expert on ESPN is doing well at .670 which would put him in 1st place here if we had invited him to play. The worst ESPN dude is at .570 which would be good for 13th place.
Kudos to Jespah and Imur who each moved up 3 positions. Tico fell by 4 slots.
There are some players here who are, um, not playing with a full deck. That is, they missed picking in a game or two or even in a week or so. That explains why, for example, Miz Cowdoc is .001 shy of being tied for 13th.
As always, let me know of any discrepancies. There is something I wanted to do today but I can't recall what it was. Week #10 schedule is coming up for yall to vote on.

I'm always startled by people who know what they think on nfl games right away. Efficient, and perhaps as workable as any other route. I study and study and get more confused. I suppose I should keep some chart re my early guessing and later guessing, but I'm too lazy. The virtue to me of the mid week worry-fest is that I keep learning. Or, I don't keep learning but I remember names more readily.
