@Izzie,
Izzie, noddy is still here in your head and your heart. Her voice (as you interpreted it) is still coming through. She's still speaking to you, as she is to all of us. You can still feel her presence. I don't recall if it was you or someone else who recently used the phrase, "channeling noddy" to a poster in need. That's exactly right. Channeling noddy, indeed.

@Izzie,
She's part of our community. Always will be.

I do miss seeing her avatar when I come across her postings.

(and the food forum's not the same without cav's av)

@ehBeth,
If we could find those avatar pictures, it would be nice to set up a memorial thread that features them and the users.

@edgarblythe,
Yesterday I reading an old thread of someones.... and as I scrolled down... there she was telling someone to Hold Your Dominion.... kinda threw me for a while. Why is that then... can still feel her talking to me (yep, may seem strange to some) but I do.... so there it is. And yes Bethie, JPB.... she's still part of our community.... actually, feel as tho she's part of me. Really. Weird huh.

@jespah,
seeing the avatars again is nice

it's an amazing thing about life, our lives are empty for their passing, but fuller for having known them

Thank you, Jes. That was wonderful.

Noddy will always live on. She left too much love in everything she touched to be ever forgotten. I saw a rainbow a couple days ago, and it made me think of her. So much beauty in her heart.

@jespah,
Aw, nice to see.

Possible to gravatar-ize anyone whose email address you know? That'd be cool.

Saw this quote last night and thought of Noddy:

Quote:
[William Maxwell's] shapely, lively, gently rigorous memoirs, out of the abundance of heartfelt writing he bestowed on posterity, are most like being with Bill in life, at lunch in midtown or at home in the East Eighties, as he intently listened, and listened, and then said, in his soft dry voice, exactly the right thing.

@sozobe,
Exactly the right thing. Love that line.

The only one I know is Noddy's son -- dunno whether it's still too raw for him. I know timber's lady love pretty well but I think she's not much of a computers person.

If anyone knows of anyone else's email -- that a family member could get to -- feel free to grab the av and pass it along, if you think that's right.

@Izzie,
As you know I have been away. In fact I was traveling on the day Noddy died and spent most of the 5 hour trip worrying and wondering. It bothered me not to know, although you could say I knew (you know?). Noddy stayed with me a lot over the weeks before I got the definite word from djjd - when I saw a rainbow, when I heard the coyotes howl late at night, when I contemplated the work ahead of the Mr. and I re: the adventure upon which we have embarked. (Noddy gave me encouragement and good advice about that, too.) I know the community here is missing her -- that is so obvious from the wonderful tributes to her memory from you all (my throat is so very tight right now from reading them all). At first I wasn't sure I wanted to revisit an A2K without Noddy in it but I am in such great company with so many fellow dominion holders, how could I not? But I miss her too, Izzie.

I just found this humerous exchange between Noddy, reyn and myself while perusing my Anything Thread. Click and scroll a bit more than halfway down.

I thought my ears were burning. Wink

Good stuff, Edgar. Thanks for the reminder that Noddy had a wonderful sense of wit. Reminds me of English humour, which I love.

@jespah,
Dear Wonderful People,

I'm Noddy's daughter-in-law. I started reading your posts last night and still haven't gotten through all of them yet. I'm not sure my husband (Noddy's son) has responded, but I feel I have to say "Thank You!" to all of you. I'm overwhelmed by your love and kindness toward Noddy. It's a tremendous comfort to know that so many people will remember her and hold fond memories of her. The A2K community was very, very important to her.

A number of years ago, my husband pushed her to get a computer and on the internet. She didn't want it. Wouldn't use it. Didn't like technology. Her typewriter was just fine, thank you very much. She cheerfully ate her words. "You have opened up the world to me", was what she said. Having met all of you through your posts, I can see why she was so happy.

I miss her terribly. Your reminiscing is helping me to remember all the fun memories that I have of her.

I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of your messages. I may even lurk around A2K to learn more about it.

Most gratefully,
Noddy's daughter-in-law
