i think im close to like 8-900.
seriously to me that sounds like a lot.
whats the average?
That is a pretty wide spread between 8 words and 900
Your reading must be better than your spelling or comprehension
The faster one can read the less one notice spelling and grammer.
the slower you read, the better you appreciate the distinction between spelling and punctuation
I'm still reading the launch post...
A reading and comprehension test.
http://www.readingsoft.com/
Yes, its for a speed reading software program but no reason not to take it since it requires no sign up. It gives you speed and comprehension for a what is basically a technical article.
(My guess is technical articles tend to read slower than other reading just because of the need to digest the information.)
Let us know what your score is..
Mine was
speed of 343 and comprehension of 100%
1000 WPM with a comprehension of 9%
But I cheated.
Well, 311 wpm and 86% comprehension.
But I have some excuse, haven't I?
299 wpm with 100% comprehension.
who's the smarty now?
387 wpm / 86% comprehension.
me.
I think I could do much better with paper, tho. Last time I tested with paper, it was around 650 wpm and 96% comprehension. My sister reads up in the low thousands -- one of those 1%ers!
I know this will eventually come up, so I'll be the one to ask....
When reading for pleasure, isn't it nice to read some things more slowly and savor it?
I love to read biographies, history, medical info, as well has fiction of many types. I'm guessing I read them at varying speeds, depending on the material, and my mood.
However, I just cannot seem to get myself to read poetry or lyrics to music. Part of it is that I would have to slow down too much.
i cant wait to take this test.
reading is seriously my thing.
586 wpm but my eyes hurt and my head hurts (i got a broken nose but thats no excuse)
64% comphrehesnion.

I bet he has a really sore hand, though...
he has a sore nose for sure.
it was funny, he hit me straight in the nose and i fell down and he went to hit me again and i just popped up and blam hit him in the nose. full force it was great.
thats when it ended..
man why do i like fighting so much? isnt that bad?
Will be when you meet the wrong dude...
Speed is not nearly as important as comprehension.Sometimes I will reread something three or four times in a different cadence to decide the real meaning.
Depends on what you are reading, and why...
i think my comprehesnion would be higher if some of the questions werent about numbers...
i think i have something wrong with my brain. i totally cant comprehend numbers in general.
percents are fine, but fractions and years dates (not time, i have like an amazing internal clock)
any math i suck at. and i cant remember numbers at all.
