now let's apply that rational to obama's opposition to the authorization to use force vote; before he was a u.s. senator. he was in a no-lose position. his supporters in chicago were mostly in agreement with him. and he had no liability of repercussions from the general american population. nobody outside of illinois knew who he was. or what he said.
hillary, on the other hand did. the whole congress did. also, consider the mood of the country at the time.
this place was absolutely crazed with great histrionics of people trying to out-patriotic each other. a real motherlode for manufacturers of cheesy little american flags that you could clip to your car window.
simply being against the war was declared "giving aid and comfort to the enemy".
the dixie chicks got blasted because they simply said they did not like dubya.
now, obama sides with the other weaklings in congress and ratifies and blesses bush's illegal invasion of privacy.
now if clinton had voted for it, would there be all of the rationalizing for her that obama's getting?
