I just found out tonight that....well let me start at the beginning:

I got a nice new digital camera a few weeks ago, and took it to Scotland with us last week, and it has a big memory chip in it, so it can hold oodles and oodles of photos, and I thought it was time to get some of these images into the computer for processing, and maybe sending onwards who knows, to who knows where, and so I got the manual out of the box today, to load up the software, and guess what, the computer is inadequate specification-wise, I'll need to buy a new computer if I want to use the camera as intended, what a bummer. Sad

Well maybe not such a bummer, come to think of it, because I was getting well fed up with how slow this computer is, and this will force my hand somewhat. Cool I'll tell Fiona, Idea think of it as an early Christmas present.
Anyway, nix pix for now. Shame. Watch this space, but not too closely just yet. Embarrassed Stop laughing, Walter. Smile

You since I know your computer, might be the world's greatest computer museum - HNF in Paderborn - might even spend some money for it? (Could be one of their highlights in "Go on a journey through 5,000 years of information technology" Laughing )

Hey don't knock it....and my VDU is labelled "Siemens, Nixdorf" so I may have contributed already to the funding of the Paderborn graveyard of old computers. Smile

Well, after my mother got a 'tranquillizer' which actually seems to be effective with her disease as well - it is now rather certain.

(If the Hertfordshire Home Guard, Stanstead Anti Asylum Regiment et. al. don't get me, I mean  ).

I'll give you a confirming email/SMS/call on Wednesday, Gautam.

Hey ci, way over there in Americay, Gautam told me in a message he was meeting Walter and Steve today, this lunchtime in Docklands, and he will certainly pass our greetings on.
Are you getting itchy feet again? Bet you are.

I just finished a great (and slightly liquid) lunch with Walter and Steve !!

Sparkiling conversation - as always and it was great to see them again - even though I had to leave early (it being a work day and all)

McT, Yeah, I'm already getting that itchy feeling, and looking at my two week break from grand jury service during the christmas-new year's holiday. If I can access some great airfare and accommodations, it might just be a possibility, but you gotta promise most of you will be available for a successful Gathering. Wink

ci, if you are coming from way way over there, how could we not promise to meet? But each would have his own situation to consider- folks move around a lot at Christmas, with family gatherings and all. All things considered, Christmas is not a good time for an A2K meet, I think. But Fiona and me would be up for it I'm sure. (Thinks....how can I keep her away from Harrods and Liberty's?)

I am guessing, that that picture has been "stretched|" a little- I won't say which way, for fear of repercussions, but Gautam and Steve look nice and tall, slim and poised, suave and elegant.

When I first looked at that photo I thought it was Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash.
