A2K London Meet IV

Reply Fri 12 Sep, 2003 05:12 am
Considering how charming us UK folks are, and how successful the last three A2K London meets have been, the demand for A2K meets in London have arisen sharply.

And hence Piffka and Mr Piffka are going to be in town on the 26th of this month and our very own charming dag immediately after that.

And what better excuse do we need to party ?? Unfortunatly I will be away in Prague during Dag's visit - so someone else will have to entertain her (and I mean it in the nicest possible way Wink ) but as far as honoring Mrs and Mr P are concerned, I suggest :

Place : The Bombay Brasserie

Address :

Courtfield Close
Courtfield Road
London
SW7 4DA

Date : 26th Spetember
Time : 1830 hrs

Right now it is 3 of us - byt pls let me know who else can attend so I can book accordingly.

I promise that this will be an evening to remember !!!

Let the party begin !!

You UK Folks are charming!! It is something I've always said.

Thanks, Gautam. You've outdone yourself -- The Bombay Bra looks super and, of course, I love the name. Also like that pale blue ceiling. If I get a bit dizzy from drink, I can always look up.

The site does say, ahem:
Quote:
Opening
Open Mon - Sun 12pm 3pm & 7pm - 10.30pm

Does that mean we'll be waiting outside for 30 minutes? (Having cleverly deduced that 18:30 is 6:30pm) Maybe a bar is open?

Going now to see where Gloucester Rd. is.

---
I'm sorry I'll be missing Dagmaraka visit -- we leave on the 29th of September. London is just a popular place.

Piffka, The reason I am keeping it early is that I have a very early morning flight to Prague the next day (Weekend in Prague - does it get any better than that <SIGH>)

They have a wonderful bar !!! Would I be so horrible and make you wait outside in London weather ever ???

Oh! Hi! No problem at all, I was just afeared the whole thing would be closed up. Bar at 18:30 sounds good. Fine. Perfect! Mr.P will quite enjoy THAT!

Don't worry about late nights... we're old & need our beauty sleeps.

A weekend in Prague? You are a lucky man!

London Underground

Uh-oh. Were you a long ways away? This website helped me a lot -- 20 minutes from the hotel and we'd have to switch trains since we're in the boonies by the Thames. Laughing

Piffka, ci was refering to our last meeting. Drinks in the Olde Cheshire Cheese then round the corner to the Bombay Palace. Round the corner that is to get in a taxi to travel the other side of London....but it was worth it!

they have Goan dishes!

what a gorgeous menu http://www.bombaybrasserielondon.com/starters.html

I'll order the Chicken Xacuti (pronounced Shakuti) A Goan chicken curry made with coconut and a blend of several rare spices, and maybe the Lamb Chettinad - A speciality from the house of Chettinad. Spicy lamb cooked with roasted coconut, chillies and ground spices.

mmmmmmmmm
