It doesn't matter where you get it.

It doesn't matter if you pay for it.

It doesn't matter if anyone knows about it.

It is created through abusing children. It is wrong to enjoy looking at images of children being abused. Period.

Can we all move on, now?

Hopefully, but you do realize that only the majority of readers will understand what you said. The author of the other thread will dispute your concise and accurate statements.

I'm quite sure a new member, coming here by way of a google search, would be wondering why this DadPad person felt a need to state something so obvious.

You have your dads mixed up, you dirty rat.

Next time I feel impelled to post on either desolate wasteland filled with quicksand of a thread I will try to come here instead.

What??? Now you attempt to stifle free speech? The problem, by the way, is yours not this thread.

the problem is that you all are bitching about a problem you can solve yourselves. If you are not interesting in a conversation then go to one of the hundreds of other active conversations. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and making you read, or post.

No....but it's kind of natural to secrete something when a chunk of grit lodges in your sensitive regions.

People like agrote cannot continue getting their jollies if they accept the truth. That's not what it's about with him. No way it's going to stop, because he has people suckered into participating with him, giving in to what he wants..

It is wrong to have anything to do with an industry that exploits children. I am, for the same reason, also against child labor.

Forget about the clinical implications of fetishes; I suspect we all have some.

Why do you speak of yourself in the third person?

it will stop , for us at least (seeing that topic) if we all just leave it alone.

If people who like kiddie porn could be changed with mere words and opinions, there wouldn't BE any of them around

(edited. I said THIS topic, when I meant the other one. Im only firing on one cylinder today..)

and if we could criminally charge for having dreams/thoughts/fantasies of having sex with a child we could remove many more. Same goes for rape...it is actions that make a person guilty of a crime, not thoughts or beliefs. So many are ignorant that this is a cornerstone principle of free society, are willing to throw it away. Do so and free society crumbles.

This consequence needs to be weighed up against the (admittedly small) positive consequences for the viewer of the porn. I'm sure I won't persuade anyone else to acknowledge the benefit that the viewer receives by watching the porn. But as a consequentialist, I must take this into account.

Dear God.

Abusing children is immoral.

Creating child pornography abuses children.

Therefore, creating child pornography is immoral.

It is immoral to profit from an immoral act. It does not matter if the original immoral act was your action or someone else's.

Therefore, enjoying child pornography is an immoral act.

Why is it wrong to profit from an immoral act committed by somebody else? Artists do it. Journalists and news reporters do it. Even professional charity workers do it.

I didn't say people don't do it; I said it's immoral.

I'm sure there are entire classes in journalism school dedicated to the ethics of covering war, crime, and the like.

Viewing pornography, however, is not journalism.
