What are the closest airports around Shelby and Galion in Ohio?
Marion, Findlay, Mansfield, Wooster, Lorain/Elyria.
Any of them?
Are they all in reasonable driving distance?
Thanks!
There seems to be an airport IN Galion:
Galion Municipal Airport - more info ยป
8240 State Route 309, Galion, OH - (419) 468-8487
How I found this info (should answer most of your other questions too):
Search for "Galion, OH" in Google maps
Click "find businesses"
Type "airport" into the "find businesses" field
It comes up with all of the airports closest to Galion, and you can get specific directions (miles, time, etc.)
If 10 to 40 miles is reasonable, then they are.
Are you proposing to have people or cargo go to one of these airports? do you need them to connect to any other particular airport/airline?
(there's a thread here somewhere where I discovered that there are airports that are cargo only)
I am looking for a flight for 2 people from there to Germany.
Looked at Columbus about two months ago and flights were around $1200 per person.
At the time I wasn't sure if the passports would be ready in time.
Now flights are around $4000 per person.
So I am trying to find alternate options.
I think 40 miles would be reasonable, one of the passengers at least has a car.

It doesn't appear that Galion has commercial passenger airline service.

The only regular air service I can find (doesn't mean there is no other, just what my search has turned up) running out of Galion is GCS which is a parcel delivery company.

As you look at each airport's website, you will need to see what airlines service it.
You can charter a plane from Galion, but that's going to be a lot more expensive.

This list at wiki shows all airports in Ohio.
Galion had 8 enplanements (commercial passenger boardings) in all of 2006. It is not a commercial passenger airport.
Your commercial passenger options in Ohio are at the top of the chart, with PR in one of the columns to the right.
The problem is that the nearest international airports are Toledo and Cleveland (105 and 95 miles).
They are too close to Shelby and Galion for a flight.
From there you can fly to Franckfurt, for example, for less than one thousand, far less if you choose your dates..
If I were them, I would find cheap tickets from New York or D.C. and get the OH-NYC or OH-D.D. ticket separately.

It does seem like a bit of a "you can't get there from here" spot.

Columbus is the nearest International Airport, but it might be best used as a connecting point to a hub that will give you better prices.

awesome. ever since i found that website, i haven't been using anything else for flight tickets. occasionally studentuniverse, but you gotta have a student ID to qualify for their discounts.
