I just got off the phone being interviewed for a disgusting Republican push poll. It was loaded with false statements they attribute to Barack Obama.
I stayed on the phone so the poor guy reading the questions could get paid for his paid job's work when I really wanted to hang up on him. He got some question answers from me that must have surprised him. He told me most of their polls are for the republican party.

What was disgusting about it? Did they ask about personal hygiene or something?
My husband is registered as an Independent and he also received such a
call. If you question them you will discover they are not actually the Republican Party, but rather one of those "swift boat" type groups who support the Republican candidate. They are not official polls, but rather a group of individuals trying to make trouble for Obama. The so called polls are meaningless in the sense of data collecting, the conversation is meant to spread nasty rumors and lies. My husband did a pretty good job of nicely firing back his own questions and the idiot who called hung up on him after using a couple of bad words. We reported their number to the State Attorney General.

I was asked if this info about Obama would cause me to not vote or cause me more to vote for Obama. The "info" was every lie I heard spread about Obama.
The purpose of the poll is to discourage me from voting for Obama, not to learn what I think of issues.

I do hate those calls.
They prove nothing as gw said.. and do not help in the long run.
But.. that is par for the course of mudslinging that happens this time of year.
So many take part, yet none of it really matters
