that if the democrats gain enough of a majority to not need him... he needs to go ahead and become a republican. this guy is an ass hole for sure.

I'm actually glad the guy speaks his mind regardless of what party he's been forced to tie himself to.
The reality is that there are no perfect republicans or democrats. Every individual holds a unique combination of views and behaviors. The categories we are forced to place them in are always only marginally descriptive of them.
If Joe Lieberman wants to leave the Democratic Party and start the Lieberman Party he should go for it. Right now the Bush Party holds office. Pretty soon it'll be the Obama Party. Each one is a unique party, wrapped in a cloak of a different name.
